Grade-specific Title
for Sixth Grade
All grade-specific
titles consist of three books, each containing 40+
hours of differentiated curriculum.
The books in each series focus on the academic standards
for that grade level, and allow students to delve
more deeply into each subject area. We offer both
grade-specific and multiage
curricula for sixth grade students.
Sixth
GradeFrontiers
What is
a frontier? What are the frontiers of the future?
What frontiers are being explored today? These and
other questions are answered in this conceptual
study of frontiers . Students will explore
forgotten pioneers in westward expansion, the civil
rights movement, and medicine. They take a close
look at the field of genetics noting the makeup
of DNA, genetic inheritance, and the prediction
of traits. Energy is examined from many perspectives
from food webs to deep space travel. Plato said,
“The learning and knowledge that we have is, at
the most, but little compared with that of which
we are ignorant.” As long as we seek knowledge,
frontiers will be ever-present.
Each book
contains the following subtopics:
Frontiers Book 1: Pioneers, Genetics, and Energy
Frontiers
Book 2: Geography, Explorers, and Literature
Frontiers
Book 3: Geology, Astronomy, and Ecology
